Remarks: | I. EUTender-Sinus-Sárkány FM Chess Tournament Tournament venue: Sárkány DSE club house 1174 Budapest, Szabadság street 24. I. floor (In the immediate vicinity of the Rákoshegy railway station on the Budapest-Keleti-Újszász-Szolnok line, accessible by buses 46, 98, 168E, 198 and S60 train, which leaves Keleti station in every half hour.) Date of tournament: From the 9th of February till the 18th of February 2025. Rest day: 16th of February. All games start at 10:00 AM. Default time: 30 minutes. Tournament system: 9 rounds of swiss system. Minimum number of players: 13, maximum number of players: 21. The tournament is to be held only if the minimum number of players pre-register. Time control: 90 min/game + 30 minutes after 40 moves + 30 seconds per move. Entry fees: 10 000 HUF (around 24-25 EUR) from 2141 onwards, 15 000 HUF (around 35-36 EUR) between 2071-2140, and 20 000 (around 48-49 EUR) HUF between 2000-2070, based on the February ratings. Chess players with less than 2 000 rating points can only enter the tournament with the permission of the chief organizer and only if there are any places left. The first three titled applicants (GM, WGM, IM, WIM, FM, WFM) can participate free of charge. All players must have either a Hungarian playing license valid for the year 2025, or a foreign player’s license (HPL) entitling them to participate in international chess tournaments in Hungary issued by the Hungarian Chess Federation, the price of which is 8 000 HUF for 365 days. Prizes: Cup for first place, medal for the first three place. The prize fund for the first three places is 80 000 (40k-24k-16k) forints, which is distributed using the Hort system, and which is understood in the case of at least 17 participants. Tiebreak: Buchholz, progressive score, results against each other. Accommodation and meals: Players are responsible for their own accommodation and meals. The organizers recommend Hotel Chesscom & Guesthouse (https://www.chesscom.hu/), which can be reached from the tournament venue by a single bus (Line 98). For meals, the organizers recommend the Sorompó restaurant located in the immediate vicinity of the tournament venue, which serves Hungarian dishes. |
