Remarks: | Riga Technical University Open, also known as RTU Open, is the largest chess festival in the Baltic States and Northern Europe, and one of the largest in all of Europe. It is held in Riga, Latvia, the hometown of the 8th world chess champion, Mikhail Tal, which adds a special charm to our festival. The festival program includes various tournaments with different rating categories and time controls, ensuring there's a suitable tournament for everyone! The main event is the "A" Grandmaster Open, attracting over 200 participants. Top-level players such as Praggnanandhaa, Gukesh, Richard Rapport, Alexei Shirov, Daniel Naroditsky, Sam Shankland and many others have participated in the past.
